Bookings & Payments

All bookings require a valid credit card or proof of EFT payment to secure the reservation.
Unless otherwise specified, payment for your stay is due on arrival or departure (depending on the rate selected).
Pre-paid or non-refundable rates require full payment in advance and cannot be amended or refunded.
The Guesthouse reserves the right to charge your card in the event of a “no-show” (failure to arrive without cancellation) as per the chosen rate policy.

Check-in is from 14:00. Reception is available until 20:00. Late arrivals must be arranged in advance; self-check-in can be provided on request.
Check-out is by 11:00, unless otherwise agreed.
Early check-in or late check-out may be possible by prior arrangement and may incur an additional charge.

Cancellation and amendment policies vary depending on the rate selected; these are clearly indicated when booking.
If no specific policy applies, cancellations made less than [insert number] days before arrival may incur a cancellation fee (e.g., one night’s stay or full booking value).
Amendments (such as date or room type changes) are subject to availability and applicable rate differences.

The number of guests per room may not exceed that confirmed in the booking without prior consent.
Visitors are welcome by arrangement but must leave the premises by [insert time, e.g. 22:00], unless authorised to stay overnight (charges may apply).
Children are welcome; extra beds or cots must be requested in advance and may incur additional fees.

Smoking is not permitted inside guest rooms or indoor common areas.
Quiet hours are observed from 23:00 to 06:00. Please respect the comfort of other guests.
Pets are not allowed unless pre-approved in writing.
Any damage to property, furnishings, or equipment caused by a guest will be charged to that guest.
The Guesthouse reserves the right to ask any guest to leave, without refund, for behaviour that is unreasonable, disruptive, or poses a safety risk.

While every reasonable effort is made to ensure safety, The Louvre Guesthouse cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings unless due to proven negligence.
Guests are responsible for securing their valuables. A safe may be provided where applicable.
The Guesthouse is not liable for injury, accident, or death unless caused by its own negligence.

Accepted payment methods: Cash, EFT, and major credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).
Rates include applicable taxes unless otherwise indicated. Any local or tourism levies will be stated clearly.
Bank fees or currency conversion charges are the responsibility of the guest.

The Guesthouse collects and stores necessary personal details (name, contact, payment) to manage bookings and comply with legal requirements.
Information will never be sold or shared with third parties for marketing without consent.
We may email you booking confirmations, invoices, or relevant updates. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time.

The Guesthouse reserves the right to amend or cancel bookings due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., maintenance, emergencies, or force majeure). In such cases, we will attempt to offer equivalent accommodation or a full refund.
These Terms & Conditions may change periodically. The version in effect at the time of booking applies.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to seek resolution in good faith before taking further legal action.
